The business must be behind the account
PlaceLocal is for businesses, not third-party listings.
An account must be created and controlled by the business it represents: an owner, employee or authorised networking representative who genuinely acts for the business in its business relationships and can respond on its behalf.
Agencies, SEO providers, listing services and other intermediaries may help with content or setup, but must not create, claim or operate a PlaceLocal account as a substitute for the business.

PlaceLocal is curated for genuine Australian operating businesses that can be known, hired, referred, collaborated with or meaningfully connected with. A public shopfront is not required — mobile, home-based and remote professional businesses may fit too.
We may review profiles, request improvements or pause publication where something needs attention. Accounts that do not fit the purpose of the network — including third-party listing operations, generic directories, lead-generation platforms or businesses created mainly for exposure — may be refused, paused or removed.
Human review helps keep the network credible and useful for the businesses participating in it.
